Life Becomes A Different Ballgame With Second Citizenship.
The ability to have two passports to two different countries is called second citizenship. With second citizenship, you have the ability to take advantage of the rights of two countries instead of just one.
However, where some individuals have citizenship in other countries for business purposes, some have it for more personal reasons. It is really up to you why it is you want to have dual citizenship, but there are plenty of reasons why you may want it.
Here are some of those reasons:
- If you have family living in another country, you may want to stay with them for long periods of time.
- Maybe you want to see if you would prefer life in another country. Some individuals become tired of the same thing and want to experience other areas of the world.
- Vacations can be extended for long periods of time, especially when there is a residence involved.
- Frequent travel to another country can make being a citizen of that country more than worth it. Travel can be done seamlessly.
- Citizenship in two countries also means having rights in two countries that wouldnt be had otherwise.
- Annoying border and custom rules can be avoided.
Your reason may be one of these or you may have a reason of your own. Perhaps you can do better with your business if you have a residence in another country that you must travel to frequently.
As for how you obtain your passport, you simply apply for and invest in a regular passport in your home country. You can then look into the rules and regulations for the country you want to achieve citizenship in to see what you need to do to be able to have the same rights as citizens.
This may be important because you may later decide to take advantage of different rights such as voting and investing. You want to have the same rights as everyone else, especially if you are living there.
So evaluate your own reasons for wanting a second passport to achieve second citizenship. It can be really rewarding to have rights in two different countries. You never know, you may find that you want to reside in the second country.
